DAVIDO releases ARE WE AFRICAN YET? (A.W.A.Y.) Music Festival to support cultural exports and international cooperation

ARE WE AFRICAN YET? (A.W.A.Y) Festival, a one-day music festival and cultural extravaganza taking place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on November 18, 2022, was announced by afrobeats superstar, recording artist, producer, and philanthropist Davido. The Festival was designed to encourage cultural exchange and cooperation between Africa and the rest of the globe. Davido has proudly worn the mantle of being an exceptional bridge between Africa and the rest of the globe as a result of his level of engagement with artists living in the United States throughout the years.

The global demand for African music, fashion, and culture has given Africans all over the world a renewed sense of pride. As the majority of Africans yearn for a closer connection to their homeland, Davido reflects in his song "Are we African Yet?," asking whether or not we are ready to embrace our ethnicity and culture. The A.W.A.Y Festival offers a chance for people of African descent and non-Africans to discover and celebrate their shared heritage and gain a new understanding of African culture.

Afrobeats music is currently one of the fastest growing music genres, gaining global recognition, and some of Africa's finest artists will grace the stage alongside some of the hottest stars stateside, with headline performances by DAVIDO, KIZZ DANIEL, PHEELZ, LOJAY, VICTONY, OXLADE, BNXN, FOCALISTIC, AND MORE.

Tickets for the first-ever A.W.A.Y Festival will go on sale beginning Friday, September 23, 2022. Purchase your tickets HERE
