So Long... That's What She Said! Erykah Badu and Robert Glasper present Maiysha (SO LONG)

Written by Jamaal Harris, BER Contributor on . Posted in Because Events Rock Blog

Erykah Badu the singer, song writer, activist and can we add thespian puts on her acting hat in the new video “Maiysha (so long)” by Robert Glasper & Miles Davis feat Erykah Badu.

The “Window Seat” singer plays the role of Sarah Bellam an upset, erratic and over dramatic jazz singer who lashes out against her band and lover/pianist played by Robert Glasper.

The short written and directed by Badu places the singer and her band in a 1940’s setting that opens up for a calm and intimate Miles Davis inspired performance in the mist of chaos and confusion. It's cheeky and clever and in E Badu/Sarah Bellam fashion.
